CINEMATICOLOGY's Movie of the Day: 12 Angry Men

This was one of the best courtroom thrillers of all time. 12 Angry Men was based on a teleplay written by the late Reginald Rose and follows twelve witnesses who perhaps have the ability to "pull the switch" on an infamous murder trial.

Sidney Lumet tells CINEMATICOLOGY how 12 Angry Men was set in a municipal courtroom and how the characters in the 1957 black-and-white legal thriller were involved in the most infamous murder witness on the big screen.

CINEMATICOLOGY Recommends: If You Could See What I Hear Trailer

CINEMATICOLOGY's Movie of the Day: Saturn 3 (Deutsch)

Science-fiction thrillers were highly popular but critically acclaimed for their unique characters, incredible futuristic settings and astonishing special visual effects. One of the most acclaimed films of the 1980s was the ITC Entertainment (now ITV Studios) deep-space suspense thriller Saturn 3, starring Kirk Douglas (father of actor Michael Douglas), a pre-Pulp Fiction Harvey Keitel and the late Farrah Fawcett. In Saturn 3, Kirk Douglas portrays Adam, who gets embroiled in android warfare as he and Eve experienced a 21st-century garden of Eden. The setting for the Stanley Donnen-directed action thriller is Titan, where all the suspense at the Saturn 3 Experimental Food Research Station takes place. Harvey Keitel is the mad scientist who invents the first robot in a new series of next-generation remote-control androids called "demi-gods." His name is Hector, and this non-talking high-tech cyborg is attempting to take over the entire Saturn 3 Experimental Food Research Station by controlling and moving mechanical body parts through the power of "radio contact."

Adam and Eve are attacked by Hector as the demi-god 'bot grabs Farrah Fawcett by the actress' two arms. As Farrah Fawcett screams in another scene from Saturn 3, Harvey Keitel warns her to let go of Hector and intends her and the 'bot to let go; and Kirk Douglas must do to dismantle Hector piece by piece.
