CINEMATICOLOGY Snarks the Small Screen: Saturday Morning Mayhem from the Golden Age of Television

I remembered the earlier years of television as evidenced by Matty Mattel, the King of Toys when Mattel sponsored Matty's Funday Funnies, featuring classic animated characters acquired by DreamWorks Animation - the team the brought film goers Shrek - and broadcast by ABC in the 1960s. For a toy company with a reputable presence in the retail market, Mattel's byline "You can tell it's Mattel... it's swell"
was succeeded by "Creating the Future of Play," and I realized Mattel's sponsorship of the show and its host, the company's product-endorsing mascot Matty Mattel, were a familiar presence during the early days of the Golden Age of Television and, since then, continue to this day.

Prime time animation was a latter part of the 1960s, with fewer exceptions such as Top Cat.
